Hellenic Pulmonary Hypertension (HPH) participated in the original Classic Athens Marathon that took place on November 8th, 2015, along with a record of 43,000 runners from all over the world!

In that historic international sport event, HPH was represented by ten athletes in the 5km and 10km road races and fifteen marathon-runners in the authentic 42.5 km Marathon Race. In total, 25 athletes participated on behalf of patients with HPH in the 33rd Athens Marathon wearing our special running T-shirts with the slogan “Πάρε Ανάσα” (“Take a breath”) printed on the front to raise public awareness about pulmonary hypertension.

We would like to thank them all for lending their breath to support our cause and our daily Marathon for every breath we take.

We are thankful to all of our friends and supporters who joined us at the stadium, to the athletes that participated in the 5km and 10km road races, and especially to our marathon-runners:

our team-leader Michalis Kakouris and to Panagiotis Kloutsiniotis, Alexandros Gougas, Kimonas Chrysoulas, Panagiotis Markou, Paulos Theodoropoulos, Antonis Karamouzis, Nikos Gkovas, Panagiotis Agiannitis, Nikos Mandalopoulos, Spyros Pinis, Nontas Xenos and Haris Papagiannis.

Special thanks to 16-year-old Christos Fyrogenis and to the Fellow Assistant of our association Spyros Katsoulas for joining the race and dedicating their marathon medals to our cause.

You filled our hearts with love and gave us strength to carry on! From the deepest of our hearts thank you all !!!
